ITU-T P.1120 Super Wideband & Full Band
ITU-T P.1120, Measurement Standard for Super Wideband & Full Band In-Vehicle Hands-Free Terminals
Achieving appropriate voice quality for in-vehicle hands-free calls is a challenging task under difficult acoustic conditions. To ensure good call quality, the ITU-T has published Recommendation ITU-T P.1120 regarding testing and requirements for super wideband and full-band hands-free calls in vehicles. This testing method focuses on key voice quality criteria such as frequency characteristics and loudness ratings in single speaker situations, echo performance, level variations in single speaker and double talk situations, and the transmission quality of background noise. HEAD acoustics has implemented and commercialized all test cases based on the recommendation as the ACQUA standard P.1120. The ACQUA standard P.1120 is used to verify and optimize whether hands-free systems and devices, either OEM or aftermarket, manufactured by car manufacturers and automotive parts suppliers comply with ITU-T Recommendation P.1120.
